I was driving to work one day when I heard a noise that sounded like a think piece of metal was flapping underneath the truck somewhere. Thought it might be the dust cover so I took it off and the noise persisted. If it happens when accelerating and shifting out of V4 mode into V8, it's your muffler valve. Mine got pretty annoying. New cat back and squeak is history. It went on for about 4 days and I had an old timer suggest some Marvel Mystery oil. I was very skeptical. I had a rattle sound similar to yours during acceleration and deacceleration, turned out to be a loose heat shield under the firewall area near the driver side. Reached up with a speed wrench and took care the noise. That noise also sounds like a very small exhaust leak.

I have heard other 2014 with the 5.3 ecotech, the truck is new to me and they do not have the same idle ticking. I am bringing it in to the dealership on tuesday to have them look it over. 99% chance they will tell you it's the normal injector tick. Some are louder than others. It took me a while to get used to it.
