There are four primary emissions systems on the L5P. EGR, DOC, SCR, and DPF. All of these systems with the exception of EGR sit within the exhaust system. Deleting the L5P DPF will remove not only the DPF but also the DOC and SCR components, and the need for DEF fluid. The EGR must be deleted separately.

Easiest way is to lower tank a bit to find the harness going to tank heater on top of tank. You find to wires coming out of the main def system harness leading to a two wire plug on top of tank. From the plug the wires continue to the sending unit. Unplug the plug and check resistance, if unusally high or an open is found it is bad.
Then tcm then remove the appropriate fuses. Take a drive. If no messages display then move onto the hardware aka exhaust system. If you have messages you may have to replace the hardware clear all codes then start from scratch. Ouch, if I hook up all connectors with no exhaust thats gonna be a pain. Once in, use a multi-meter to check for voltage at pins J1 (map sensor), B1 (engine control module or ESM), and K1 (fuel injection). If any of these readings are low, then you will need to clear the code by removing and replacing resistor R3.

Place the end of the chassis side fuel feed hose into a clean container and run the fuel pump to clean any debris left in the fuel lines, approximately 2-3 gallons (7.6-11.4L).
