Jul 3, 2021 · Almo. Seems like the clunking is from the drive shaft into the rear end. Like when it starts to spin, it's engaging the gears and clunking. It also happens when letting off the throttle, almost like gear slapping, also happens when going over a bumps. Sound does not seem to be coming from the clutches.

My son in laws 2011 makes a noise like something is rubbing/clanking when he lets off of the gas at low speed and it was the belt rubbing against the cover. The belt rises up when he lets off of the gas and it rises up and touches the cover. Check your belt cover closely.
