Now that one needed some parts and a conversion kit, but for $65.00 she's good as new. I'm still playing with a 1996 60SS, round would coome up like it was suppose to but after firing a few magazines worth, the spent cases were found to be dragging over the top of the round in the feed throat.I had the same problem, exactly the same. I did replace my feedthroat and that fixed it. Just a warning though, dont try to use your old lifter with a new feedthroat.There is a little bit of difference in the conversion kit lifter and the original lifter. New feedthroat with old lifter will jam your bolt and cause more headackes.

Your 1973 bolt is not compatible for reasons that will become obvious once you disassemble the gun. Second option is to modify the new style feed throat to fit the contour of the old bolt.
