Nov 5, 2021 · TL;DR: if your tamed dodorexes disappear, put them in cryopod and they probably wont disappear after you take them out. I may have found a workaround for the disappearing tamed dodorexes. So we have tamed 2 of them and they haven't disappeared *yet*. However, all of their offspring disappeared in 10-12 in-game hours.

Anky is far more effective than the mining laser, and frankly the metal pick will easily generate all of the 100 pound stacks of crystal you can carry *anyway*. The difficulty isn't finding or mining crystal. It's in transport, same as with Obsidian, metal, even stone and wood.
