I used a multimeter and tested the battery, the ignition switch, the pto switch, the brake switch, the positive cable to the solenoid from the battery, the blue wire from the solenoid to the ignition switch and the fuse.

I have a Craftsman lawn tractor with a 21 HP (540cc) engine. It will not start. When it turns over to start it acts like it wants to kick back. I checked the magneto clearance at the flywheel and found one side was .015 and the other was .009. I do have fire at the plug but it still will not start. I do not know how to check the timing.
