The graphical interface does not load either (I get a square at the centre of the desktop for what I suppose is the loading screen). I tried following all the relevant steps on the troubleshooting guide , with no luck.

I am quite sure NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.79 was installed (before the update, it was NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-352.63) Everything seems to be working normally and most OpenGL program work.
