I've got a X580 with a 47" 2 stage snowblower. After last winters 100" snowfall, the blower belt was in serious need of replacement. To tell the truth, I was amazed that it didn't break after moving all that snow. Looking in the owner's manual, it says to just remove the tension pulleys and slide the belt off the snowblower pulley.
The new (to me 47" snow blower) the skid shoes are set at about 1". On the model 49 snow Thrower I set the skid shoes by setting the scraper bar on the garage concrete floor, and then bring the skid shoes to the floor. The mounting points are narrower, but that could be overcome. The harder part is the gearbox on the blower.
