When I did, I couldn't see any oil in the reservoir so added what amounted to 28 ounce of oil. I would double check that seal install. Also the oil pump creates a vacuum inside the crankcase to evacuate the engine oil back towards the oil pan. If the vacuum is disrupted somehow the case oil can get past the crank seal and into the primary. Another place engine oil can get into the primary is the stator harness retainer screws.
