This feat increases the damage one step if it is a simple weapon and also gives +2 circumstance damage with crossbows. Not bad if you want to use a hand crossbow (1d8+2 plus implement empowerment, weakness damage and specialization). Mauler Dedication can get you the critical specialization for weapons with the two-handed trait.
