Orchids are slow, rootless orchids are much slower. Patience is the name of the game. A rootless plant cannot absorb water and nutrients to make new structures (including roots). It relies entirely on any water and nutrients that are already present in its remaining structures. Phal orchids are much more forgiving of that than many other orchids. In the worst case scenario flowers will wilt or you might accidentally break the flower spike while repotting, but I would repot in bloom and take that risk because I would want to make sure that roots are healthy enough.Five different spots were out of orchid mix and pots. A few said they were baffled by the "orchid thing." Its kind of important to make sure there is a gap between the two pots, shouldn't be a tight fit. Just about any plastc container will work. Omg that is brilliant. These things are nowhere to be found!Find the purest water you can (rainwater, DI, RO, or distilled) and just soak them for a few hours everyday until they plump back up again. It might end up taking a week or two. The more pure the water, the faster they'll plump up again. I wouldn't switch over to a new water system to recovery them.
