Also, any recs on baby gear rental companies? We have a week at our condo downtown Cabo San Lucas that we do not need a car for,then planning a week between La Paz and Los Barriles. I guess we will have to email and see if any would deliver a car to downtown Cabo. I just thought that $700-800 Canadian seems pretty expensive for a week.

If it stays on course, more than likely your flight will be canceled. It doesn't look to be a major hurricane so there should be minimal damage at most resorts. If you choose to use a credit card, ask to be charged in pesos and be aware that the vendor must pay a fee to the cc company.
