Seclorum is one of those words that falls into this weirdness. At a glance, Seclorum looks very close to another word which we know quite well. That word being "Secular." Secular is defined as "wordly" or in some cases "Being of the world." Here's the thing though. Though seclorum looks like secular, it's not the root word for the latter.On the reverse of the seal is a pyramid with 1776 in Roman numerals at the base. The pyramid stands for permanence and strength. The 13-letter motto, "Annuit Coeptis" means "He has favored our undertakings."
