I'll bet you'll find the battery is toast. Every time the battery drops below 12.4v, it sulphates. Too much sulphation, and it no longer holds an adequate charge. The Vulcan 500 should have no problems starting or operating in very cold temperatures (other than being just a little fickle like any carbed bike, but it will definitely crank)Ignition switch electrical contacts dirty. 2. Dirty contacts on the fuel pump relay. 3. Fuel pump staring to fail (can be $$$$). 4. Dirty/corroded electrical contacts on the plug going to the fuel pump relay. Run a fine piece of copper wire through them to make sure they are clear. This is the most common cause of clutch slip when hot, ok when cold. Show more replies.
