Perhaps it has something to do with the girth and weight of the round that makes proper magazine lip manufacture so critical. Remove the slide from the frame, use your fingers to pull the spring up out of the reverse plug...it only has to be pulled up about 1/8" and the end butted against the barrel link will pop up.First things first - you'll need to take apart the upper assembly of your 1911. The good: The guns I had were actually reliable, no major issues in terms feeding, ejecting/jamming. At one time I thought Kimber was the top of the food chain, I really did have pride of ownership with them!Place the magazine in the magazine well in the frame, with rounds facing forward and push up until magazine is fully seated. A click should be heard as the magazine catch engages when this is done properly. 4. To chamber a round, hold the firearm in the shooting hand without touching the trigger.
The optic is mounted lower into the slide so no need to have suppressor height sights installed. Also, the optic and mounting plate can be removed completely and you can re-install your rear sight. The are 8 rd mags that are standard 7 rd tubes with modified spring/follower to fit an extra round. Many have great luck, many will only carry them with 7 rounds for reliability reasons.
