Regular energy seems silly. There is still a cap on how many sims you can do. You aren't going to get a character any faster. Just farm gear if you want to be efficient. Cantina energy might make sense if your goal is to get a specific cantina character to 7 stars as quickly as possible. But I'm general it's not going to be a wise move. To gain 50 salvage you would need roughly 302 attempts or 3020 energy. Cost of Full Gold Ball is 750 crystals. Energy per crystal is 4.03 - Way more than 50 crystal refresh and 100 crystal refresh.
