You will then see the clutch elements. I was using Shakespeare ugly line and it does not straighten out (sort of like cheap fishing line). It works fine in the Stihl gas trimmer, but the ego does not spin fast enough for the line to straighten. I tried Echo crossfire and the Ego works much better.
