I strongly suspect that the extreme rigidity of the short, thick barrel/slide assembly is what gives the G30 its phenomenal accuracy, especially for its size and sight radius.

Glock reduced the backstrap circumference just a teeny bit. I reach the 30 fine, but the 30 sf seems awesome feeling to me. The G30 (32.50MM wide) is just a little bit wider than the G26 (30MM wide). What I would also consider is most put an extension on the G26 which makes the grip the same length as the 19/30 with facotry extension.
