Just want to say I agree that bowfa has destroyed the fun of Ironman progression as there are no equipment requirements to get it. I asked the same question a few weeks back. I've concluded it's necessary. You need it to learn inferno if your iron is your main, it's just not realistic to assume you'll get a tbow.
