If your child could be NMSF then I would think they have high enough scores and grades to where the stats would be good enough to get in anyway. D applied through Pitt system on 9/9 and never received any email about the application. We checked the Pitt system on 9/14 and saw the accept/decline buttons. Then 24 hrs later, the acceptance letter appeared in the document center. No email communication whatsoever from Pitt even up to now.$20k from Pitt is the real deal. Very infrequent. Congrats. RU vs Bing vs Pitt at nearly the same price is a good problem to have. Hard to find a school with more research or clinical opportunities for pre-med than Pitt. Every other building is a hospital. I can't speak to all of them, but I do think they are a big perk/advantage. My D22 received the GAP for Nursing. I will say that she does not at this point have the 3.5 GPA requirement. Those 4.0's in high school are not so easy to come by now!! I guess every school grades a little differently, but in her HS, a B+ was a 3.33, at Pitt it is a 3.25. I guess many high stats applicants treat Pitt as backup no matter they get GAP or not. Also maintaining 3.5 GPA is pretty challenging as well. I know some program only requires 3.0 or so.
