This takedown lever just moves more freely than ones from my other FCUs. But that does not matter If I hold it while swapping. Although for me the issue was the sear was blocking the take down lever from going back in. So you may have to push down on the top of it to move it out the way. It’s accidentally locked into the safety feature for if you have a mag in or haven’t slide locked.. I would do a few things ti try to reset it.. dry fire a few times, insert a mag, slide lock it, drop the mag out, rack a few times, one last dry fire trigger pull, then slide lock and try again.

Cat2020, I purchased a new P365 after you posted everything was really really tight. The takedown lever was extremely tight as well. I just kept working it back and forth. Racked the slide about 200 times ran 110 rounds through it and although it is still tight, everything works good. No malfunctions at the range.

It is now stuck at 7/5 o'clock. The slide sits about 1/8" from the back end of the frame, but racks ok and can be locked back with the release/catch. Also, can't get the slide off of the frame, now. If this is the status of your P365 in that you cannot remove the Slide hopefully removing the Striker will allow the Slide to slide forward and off of your P365. Check out the 2nd video that I posted above.. Go to 3 minutes in and that is your Slide Plate removal. It is the newest version. But like others have said, you may need to wiggle and use some excessive force to pull it off. Try pulling back on the slide and while doing so, try turning the takedown lever either forward or backward - trying to free up the slide.

When the FCU is out it can slip behind where it belongs, rotating the slide lever won't depress the sear down and the slide jams into it. It's like it's own trigger finger actually pulling the sear down. Unlike the 320 FCU, the P365 is less "user friendly" about having all the parts captured to keep them in place.

Rotate the takedown lever counterclockwise 90° (left) Pull the slide back and then up to unhook it from the frame. Rotate the takedown lever 90° counterclockwise. Hold the lever takedown forward and grab the slide from the rear, not the front. My levers usually are in the 7/8 o clock position. You’re looks like it’s at the 6 o clock.
