The loading docks have giant massive fans. FedEx smelled like rotting fish, they pay minimum wage, and management is non-existent. Both only care about throughout but at least at UPS they take things seriously. Everything at FedEx is treated so carelessly and everything is a joke to them. There might be some sort of serial number, but I don't see how it would be remotely read. The only number that would be unique to OP's individual Steam Deck is MAC address but those are a) not guaranteed to be unique b) easily changed. Aug 8, 2022 · It's poor strategy that reeks of "We are not confident in our product enough to go into mass production", and if you care about the future of the Deck, or a potential Deck V2, you should wish upon a star that they market it to non-steam users, otherwise it's gonna go the same way as the Steam Controller, except the Deck didn't deserve that. Today the Steam Deck box was delivered completely empty and it wasn't even a clean cut on the tape. I caught everything on my nest doorbell camera, the driver plops it on the ground, and not 2 minutes later I'm outside picking it up and immediately noticing that it's as light as a feather and the side flap is just hanging out.

There are steam decks that shipped through UPS. Im already more comforted by UPS. They use UPS for RMAs but initial shipments are with FedEx. I am a UPS worker that work in Chicago which is 40mins to 1hr away from Carol Steams. But I wanted to post something interesting that I Had noticed.

It makes life with a Steam Deck very difficult it seems. All steam decks have the same model number. Each steam deck does have a unique serial number.I paid 89 for import fees for a total of 778. Haven't heard anything about additional costs yet, Deck still isn't in my hands but can't see FedEx asking me to pay at delivery. Edit: that's nutty that you got charged this additional fees. What they do is bid the routes out and whoever comes in the lowest gets the route. Its hard to notice because they still drive fedex trucks and wear fedex uniforms but if you look on the truck it should have something like JR's trucking or XPV delviery.
