They're also the best medic in the group (decent wisdom, trained in medicine), so they're usually the one patching folks up during and after battle.

As for archetypes, there were two that looked immediately promising to be. The first is the Medic archetype, which will bring your Medicine skill to Expert so you can take Continual Healing at level 3. This allows you to heal often and for basically free. The required Battle Medicine is good for emergencies as well.
