On Lichess.org I hover around ~1350-1450 on Rapid 10+0 games, but on Chess.com I can't get past 1150. Are the rankings different? The level of players? Or because I've almost exclusively played on Lichess.org the past few years - I seldom play games in real life - that my brain isn't used to the board? Thanks!

My thoughts: Lichess is very functional, but also very ugly (super subjective) (EDIT: I play almost exclusively on mobile apps) For some reason, the super inflated ratings bother me. They are entirely detached from reality. Chess.com is obviously inflated relative to USCF or FIDE, but not nearly as bad.

Best. FICS is great for live play and also has some fun variants. Chess com has live too but is nice for turns based. CC has daily puzzles and tactics etc if into that sort of thing and has a bit more of a social media feel with user profiles. Fics has many different client apps which provide varied experiences and abilities.

Lichess could use starting elo 10,000 if they wanted and again just end up with a different scale. Your argument is like saying FIDE ELO is inflated because nobody has ELO less than 100 and so the decimal point should be moved to make GM's ratings 24-28 and normal people would have ratings 1-20. 1.
