The absolute best, most solid mount is, of course, the most expensive. If you want to do it one-and-done, this is the way to go. If you have a garage queen, then zip ties work fine, but for REAL riders off road, get a stout mount.Some experience with stock tank, MSR bottles, RotoPak, 2.3gallon XT225 tank and this 4 gallon Clarke have me favoring a larger tank for all the reasons stated above. Add a big box on back, tool tubes, extra lights, tall fender and a Jimbo shield and the 4 gallon no longer looks quite so huge and out of place on the formerly sleek TW.

The only issue I had was the right side cover stud wouldn't go in the hole on the bottom of the tank. I just clipped the stud off, drilled a small hole in the side cover and used a zip tie. On mine the bars are close to the stock tank even with the 1.2" riser and the front drum brake plastic cable holder thats mounted on the tree will just barely touch my tank when turned all the way to the left.
