In the Delorean the torsion spring for the doors was easily adjusted with a socket allen wrench if it was too weak or too strong. Not so in our solstices.

There is a snap one on top and one on the bottom holding it in to the dash. Working with a small screwdriver and dental pick was able to release them and got it out. New switch at Autozone was only $13. The trunk release button in my glove box will not open the trunk. The key fob works fine.

Either the flap has popped off the hinge on the cable side or the pin is broken off and would need to be replaced. Best bat to not cause any more damage is to take the flaps off all together until you get it fixed. There is also wayyyy to much slack in the cable.
