N55 serpentine belt

Serpentine belt rip on N55 . My brother's serpentine belt ripped on his 5-series. Not completely, about half of it was still on and some ripped pieces were in the driveway. It was caused by the OFHG leaking, I replaced the belt and while doing so I didn't notice any leaking or wear to the crankshaft seal. Would it be safe to drive it to the shop?.

BMW’s N55 engine succeeded the N54 engine, but moved to a single-turbo design as opposed to the twin-turbo N54. The N55 also followed the N54’s footsteps winning 3 straight Ward’s 10 Best Engines awards. Ah then it is likely your Front Main Seal. The FMS will usually get damaged because that is the belt ingestion point at the crank of the N55. Even though you may have all the bits and pieces of your belt, it likely ripped the FMS. Easy to replace if you have an extraction tool. Mine was ripped due to the belt incident.
