I believe you keep your momentum when you are holding a movement key when you killbind (or the opposite) I don’t think it’s “luck”, but there isn’t a command that keeps momentum and one that doesn’t. To set a permanent key bind, you need to edit the config.cfg file found in /SteamApps/common/Team Fortress 2/tf/cfg. You could open this in any text editor including notepad. Go to the end of all of the next (actually use the End key) and press enter a few times. After that, you can start typing your custom keybinds.
